My people came from Clare Island, Clifden and Mayo and I love to witness the hedgerows emerge at dawn from the early train going to the West.

My father passed when I was age ten. My Uncle Michael brought us cruising on the Barrow River and it was a time for deep thought, adventure and laughter.

I studied Botany and Biochemistry and have taught in schools. I have seen how underprivileged boys gained confidence by landscaping a local Dart Station.

Attending John Feehan’s Summer Biodiversity School in Offaly every year for ten years, convinced me about the power of the living world.

I I qualified in Social and Therapeutic Horticulture from Coventry University in 2019, and I have worked for over 20 years providing the comfort of nature activities to hundreds of people of all ages.

A Nature connection has been proven to be beneficial for body, mind and spirit, and more and more people are turning to a green prescription for wellness.

Social prescribing is the name given to the nonmedical, non-psychological approach and it is a social model. Research for over 70 years has shown that a green prescription works for all ages.

Nature therapy works in 5 domains, the physical, psychological, social, cognitive, and spiritual.

The client is often referred by a medical practitioner, social worker, or self, and with the help of the nature therapist sets their own goals over a chosen time frame. Overcoming isolation, loneliness, stress, depression, and anxiety are some of the areas most often referred to.

I look forward to sharing my passion with you.

When the tide you never valued has gone out and you are marooned on unsure ground…Be excessively gentle with yourself. Gradually you will return to yourself…And the joy that dwells deep within slow time.
